Commissioner Stewart is serving her first term on the Highlands County Commission. Ms. Stewart brings vast experience in planning and zoning issues, as she has been a Planner at the municipal, county and regional levels of government in three different states. In addition, she was Planning Director of a Florida-based Engineering Consultancy.

Commissioner Stewart is a former member of the Highlands County Natural Resources Advisory Commission and the Highlands County Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment and the Local Land Planning Agency.

She is currently the County Commission’s liaison to the Audit Committee, Community Traffic Safety Team, Heartland Water Alliance, Public Safety Coordinating Council, Sebring Airport Authority, Long Range Transportation Committee and the Value Adjustment Board.

She is married to Fred Trippensee and lives in Avon Park .
