March thru May - KEEP HIGHLANDS COUNTY BEAUTIFUL ANNUAL GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP™ PROGRAM, The Great American Cleanup™ is a fun, educational, outdoor, springtime activity!  In addition to organizing a litter clean up, you can take part in any of “Keep America Beautiful mission-consistent” activities. FREE TREES – The Florida Division of Forestry and the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services have funded the Hurricane Releaf Voucher Program. To qualify you must live in the unincorporated areas of Highlands County, have lost a tree through the 2004 hurricane season and take a free 1-hour tree maintenance class.
