Commissioner Jackson was born and raised in Highlands County . He was elected to the commission in 2000. Commissioner Jackson is a practicing attorney and former Assistant State Attorney. He brings an enormous amount of practical experience in economics and law and is a graduate of the
University
of
Florida
.
Commissioner Jackson has served as President of the Highlands County Cattleman’s Association, Highlands County Property Owners Association, Lake Placid Jaycees, Director of the Lake Placid and Sebring Chamber of Commerce, member of the Zoning Board, and former chairman of the Lay Education Committee.
He currently serves on the Rural Economic Development Initiative, Tourist Development Council, Industrial Development Authority and Veteran’s Services Advisory Board.
He lives in Sebring with his wife Ida and is the father of four children., Nathan, Randy, Crystal and Amber.
