The Division of Fire Services includes the administration of the 10 volunteer fire departments and fire districts, which provide fire and emergency response throughout the 1100 square mile unincorporated area of the county.  This division also organizes fire prevention activities such as the Fire Code review and enforcement, fire investigation, and fire safety education.

The Division of Emergency Management is responsible for the four phases of emergency and disaster activities:  mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.  During an emergency or disaster, Emergency Management activates the Emergency Operations Center where all emergency support staff gathers to provide an organized response. 

The Division of 9-1-1 Communications oversees the enhanced 9-1-1 (E911) program countywide.  This division also provides 911 Communications and Dispatch for all fire departments in the unincorporated areas and Emergency Medical Services countywide.  The E-911 Division is responsible for the Master Street Addressing Guide program.
