Corine Burgess serves as Public Information Officer for the Highlands County Board of County Commissioners .  She has worked at both the local and state level of government.  While working with the State of Florida , Corine served as Park Manager in the Florida Park Service.  In 2000, Corine was hired by Highlands County as Administrative Secretary to Tom Portz, Assistant County Administrator.  In 2004 she was promoted to Public Information Assistant and later in 2004 was promoted to Public Works Coordinator with the Engineering Department.  Corine was chosen to be the new Public Information Officer in October of 2005.

Corine is a graduate from South Florida Community College with an Associates in Arts degree in Public Administration and is currently attending Barry University to obtain her Bachelors Degree also in Public Administration.  She lives with her husband, Dan, her two children, Justin and Keira in Sebring
